Scales commits future to Celtic

Liam Scales has committed his future to Celtic until at least 2030.

The Republic of Ireland defender has signed a new four-year contract, with the option of extending by a further year.

Scales moved to the Scottish champions in 2021 and has made over 100 appearances for the Hoops.

Benfica’s Gianluca Prestianni has been given a six match ban for homophobic conduct towards Real Madrid’s Vinicius Junior.
Three of those games are suspended for two years, and one has already been served.
Vinicius had alleged racial abuse during the Champions League fixture in Lisbon, but UEFA’s investigation ruled the incident was homophobic rather than racist.
