The Minnesota Timberwolves have now suffered two straight meltdown losses in the closing minutes. On Saturday in Phoenix, they let a nine-point lead slip away in the final 50 seconds.
Then on Monday, they blew a 10-point advantage with under three minutes left in regulation before ultimately falling 117-112 in overtime to the Sacramento Kings.
The back-to-back collapses have raised concerns within the organization and among fans, prompting The Athletic’s Jon Krawczynski to break down what might be fueling Minnesota’s crunch-time issues.
“Hopefully we learn,” Rudy Gobert said, addressing the team’s late-game struggles. “We still have an amazing opportunity ahead of us, but we have to decide who we want to be.”
