After the Houston Rockets’ blowout 114-92 win over the Phoenix Suns, Ime Udoka commended his former player Dillon Brooks for his 29-point game performance, as he has been playing in a different role.

During the clash, an incident occurred when Brooks bumped Steven Adams in transition, which turned into a foul and led to some heated gestures with his former coach.

For Udoka, it was nothing but a love for the game, and he valued their relationship in the previous seasons with the Rockets.

“We loved it. If you know me, I don’t mind that at all. What he did for our organization was invaluable.”

Houston head tactician already expected Brooks to dominate with the Phoenix, as he had the time to step up while Jalen Green was sidelined due to a hamstring injury.

“Motivation. He’s having the freedom to do a lot of things, with some guys missing with Jalen (Green) specifically. Playing at an extremely high level, scoring and shooting it. Being extra aggressive.  He’s going to bring that edge regardless on a nightly basis against everybody,” Udoka said.

Udoka handled Brooks for the previous two seasons and played a significant role on the defensive end for the Rockets, but was sent to the Suns as part of the Kevin Durant trade along with Jalen Green.
