Paris Saint-Germain players took to Roland Garros to show off their successfully defended Champions League trophy in front of the French Open crowd.
Ousmane Dembele and Bradley Barcola carried out the trophy onto Court Philippe-Chatrier on Monday afternoon and placed it next to their 2025 title, two days after winning Europe’s premier club competition for the second time in a row.
PSG beat Arsenal 4-3 in a penalty shootout after the game ended in a 1-1 draw at the Puskas Arena, with Dembele’s second-half penalty cancelling out Kai Havertz’s sixth-minute penalty.
“We’re bringing you the second star, we’re proud and happy,” Desire Doue told the crowd, who brought out the first trophy alongside Warren Zaire-Emery having starred in last year’s 5-0 final win over Inter Milan. “We want to thank everyone at the club, it’s a collective victory.”
PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi was also present at Roland Garros, which is located in western Paris close to the Parc des Princes.
Dembele added: “We’ve lived outstanding moments with this squad and we want to win a third one but first we have the World Cup with France.”
This will act as something of a send-off for Dembele, Barcola, Doue and Zaire-Emery, who will join France’s training camp on Tuesday to start their preparations for the World Cup.
France will play Ivory Coast in Nantes on Thursday and Northern Ireland next Monday in Lille, before flying to the United States. Les Bleus are drawn in Group I with Senegal, Iraq and Norway.
