Portugal set-up World Cup clash with Spain

Portugal have set up a last-16 meeting with neighbours Spain at the World Cup – but only after stoppage time drama.

They took the lead against Croatia in the 94th minute – before their opponents had an equaliser ruled out by a lengthy VAR check.

Spain cruised through to the next round with a 3-nil victory over Austria.

Tonight, Crumlin’s Pico Lopes and Cape Verde face the toughest of tests in their first-ever World Cup knockout game.
