While the Memphis Grizzlies have made it known they’re willing to discuss trades involving Ja Morant, there has been no similar indication that Jaren Jackson Jr. is available.

League chatter continues to suggest Memphis views Jackson as a long-term cornerstone and prefers to build around him rather than move him.

That hasn’t stopped teams from checking in. According to Michael Scotto of HoopsHype, the Detroit Pistons and Boston Celtics are among the clubs that have expressed interest in Jackson.

Detroit has been searching for a frontcourt player who can space the floor, while Boston has a clear need for an impact big man after recent roster losses.

Still, Memphis remains reluctant to entertain serious discussions involving the 26-year-old, who is under contract through at least 2029.

Interest in Morant has been far more complicated.

Scotto reports that the Miami Heat, Milwaukee Bucks, Sacramento Kings, Toronto Raptors, and New Orleans Pelicans have all registered some level of interest, though mostly at a discounted price.

ESPN and Sam Amick of The Athletic have both described league-wide interest as limited, with several teams unwilling to part with meaningful assets.

Morant remains sidelined with a right calf injury and did not play in the NBA’s first regular-season game in Germany.

Commissioner Adam Silver addressed the situation ahead of the game, expressing hope that Morant could return soon.

“I know he has a tremendous following globally,” Silver said, per Tim Reynolds of the Associated Press.

“And I wish he were able to play tonight. I’m still holding out hope he’ll be able to play when we’re in London on Sunday. So, yes, I’m disappointed he’s not on the floor tonight, but I understand he’s injured.”
