DeAndre Jordan is taking his talents to New Orleans. The veteran center has agreed to a one-year, $3.6 million contract with the Pelicans, according to reports.

Jordan, represented by agents Jeff Schwartz and Mike Lindeman, joins New Orleans after spending the last three seasons with the Denver Nuggets, where he served primarily as a veteran backup and locker-room leader.

Last season, Jordan appeared in 56 games for Denver, averaging 3.7 points and 5.1 rebounds in just over 12 minutes per contest. His limited role reflected the team’s reliance on star center Nikola Jokic and a deep frontcourt rotation.

With Denver trading for Jonas Valanciunas this offseason, Jordan’s playing time was expected to shrink even further, prompting his move.

Now 37, Jordan remains one of the few active players from the 2008 NBA Draft – a class that once included Derrick Rose, Russell Westbrook, and Kevin Love.

Over his 17-year career, he has been known for his rebounding, rim protection, and high-flying dunks, earning an All-NBA First Team nod in 2016 and an Olympic gold medal that same year.

For the Pelicans, Jordan’s signing adds another layer of veteran experience alongside Kevon Looney, whom the team also brought in this summer to stabilize the center position.
