FORMER England international Jay Rodriguez scored for Wrexham Academy – at the age of 36.
Rodriguez was announced in the starting line-up for the match-up with Bolton Wanderers in the Central League.
The game ended 1-1 thanks to Rodriguez’s strike.
The veteran forward was sidelined during the opening half of this season after injuring his ankle in pre-season.
Rodriguez has since made five senior appearances in all competitions this side of Christmas.
Wrexham boss Phil Parkinson used the Central League fixture to manage minutes for his players returning from injury and get them up to full match fitness.

Rodriguez faced the Trotters alongside the likes of Wales international Danny Ward, who started in goal for the first time since an elbow injury.
Rodriguez played in the Premier League with boyhood club Burnley for five seasons, two of those which he spent on loan.
He was the Clarets’ top scorer in the 2011/12 season, which led to his first call up for the England under-21 squad where he made one appearance.
The striker then completed a move to Southampton in the summer of 2012 for around £7million.

It was against Chile where Rodriguez earned his first, and only, cap for his country at Wembley Stadium. He played 57 minutes before being subbed off, and England ultimately suffered a 2-0 loss.
Since his stint with Southampton, the 36-year-old played two seasons with West Bromwich Albion before re-signing to Burnley.
In January 2025, he signed for then League One side Wrexham on an 18 month deal.
He is the club’s third highest earner on a basic weekly salary of £25,000.
Wrexham are in sixth spot in the Championship – and have just received a massive cash boost in their bid for another promotion.
