Olympiacos announced on Friday, January 23, the signing of 34-year-old Canadian guard Cory Joseph, who will join the team for the next season and a half. Joseph, a 16-year NBA veteran, has appeared in 953 career games and brings extensive experience at both the domestic and EuroLeague levels.
The guard has played for multiple NBA teams, including the San Antonio Spurs, Toronto Raptors, Indiana Pacers, Sacramento Kings, Detroit Pistons, Golden State Warriors, Orlando Magic, and most recently AS Monaco. Joseph signed with Monaco in December 2025 but was unable to compete due to the club’s imposed sanctions.
Joseph is expected to provide Olympiacos with a seasoned backcourt presence and facilitate the team’s offense, complementing stars such as Sasha Vezenkov and Tyler Dorsey. The club currently sits fourth in the 2025-26 EuroLeague standings with a 15-8 record, maintaining a +129 point differential.
Olympiacos has leaned heavily on Vezenkov, who averages 19.4 points, 6.7 rebounds, and a 90.7% free-throw rate over 23 games, and Dorsey, contributing 16.6 points and 2.8 assists per contest. Joseph’s arrival adds depth at guard, where Frank Ntilikina, Tyson Ward, and Thomas Walkup currently rotate.
Coach Georgios Bartzokas now has an experienced playmaker to help manage pace, control the offense, and mentor younger players in high-pressure EuroLeague matchups. Olympiacos has also relied on Nikola Milutinov for interior scoring and rebounding, while Dontae Hall and Alec Peters have contributed significant minutes off the bench.
