
Kate O’Connor is sitting in the silver medal position after three events in the women�s pentathlon at the World Indoor Championships.
The European champion ran a personal best in finishing fourth in her 60-metres heat in China before topping the standings in the high-jump.
O’Connor then moved into medal contention by throwing a personal best in placing third in the shot put.

The 24-year-old will be in action in the long-jump at twenty-to-11 Irish time before the concluding 800-metres race this afternoon.
Andrew Coscoran and Sophie O’Sullivan both have their 15-hundred-metres heats later this morning.
