The Denver Nuggets and Christian Braun are in advanced talks on a contract extension, with league sources telling Michael Scotto of HoopsHype that there is cautious optimism a deal will be reached ahead of Monday’s deadline.
Negotiations between Braun’s representative, Bill Duffy of WME Sports, and the Nuggets have reportedly centered on a five-year deal worth between $115 million and $125 million.
Braun, 24, is entering the final year of his four-year, $13.8 million rookie-scale contract and has established himself as a key contributor for Denver.
He started 77 of 79 games in the 2024–25 season, averaging 15.4 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 2.6 assists while shooting 39.7% from three-point range.
The versatile wing played a major role in the Nuggets’ postseason, starting all 14 games in the 2025 playoffs and averaging 12.6 points and 6.4 rebounds over 38.9 minutes per contest. His defensive and offensive contributions have made him a core piece for Denver moving forward.
The Nuggets are balancing their desire to retain Braun with long-term salary cap considerations, aiming to secure his services without compromising flexibility for other roster moves.
Braun’s steady improvement over three seasons, including a leap from 7.3 points per game in 2023–24 to 15.4 in 2024–25, has strengthened his case for a substantial extension.
