Northern Ireland’s First Minister confident that Casement Park redevelopment will go ahead

Northern Ireland’s First Minster insists that the redevelopment of Casement Park will go ahead, despite Stormont’s leaders being at odds over the project.

The DUP’s Emma Little-Pengelly has claimed that there’s a 100-million pounds shortfall in funding required to rebuild the GAA Stadium in Belfast.

50 million pounds has been pledged to the proposed works at Casement from the government in the UK, with a further combined 120 million from the GAA, the Irish government and the Stormont Executive.

Communities Minister Gordon Lyons will hold further talks with the GAA later today and Michelle O’Neill is confident they’ll prove fruitful:
