The Chicago Bulls may have escaped Saturday’s matchup with the Washington Wizards with a one-point victory. Still, Nikola Vucevic wasn’t pleased with the way the team approached the game, according to Lorenzi of The Athletic.
Vucevic criticized Chicago’s mindset and effort, saying, “For three quarters, we were very soft. We gave no resistance. We didn’t do anything that we talked about. Just played really soft. It was really bad … I don’t think we understand that it’s just not sustainable to play this way.”
Matas Buzelis, whose enthusiastic reaction to the win visibly annoyed Vucevic during a post-game interview (Twitter video link), acknowledged afterward that his veteran teammate had a valid point.
Speaking to reporters later, Buzelis said, “He believes that we should beat that team by a lot more, and I totally agree with him. He has every right to be upset. We have to be better, for sure.”
