The Brooklyn Nets have added international basketball experience to their front office by hiring former EuroLeague standout Cory Higgins as a scout, according to NBA insider Michael Scotto of HoopsHype.

Scotto reported that Higgins joins the organization alongside Josh Coley, who most recently served as athletic director and head coach at Christ School. The move reflects Brooklyn’s continued investment in global scouting and player development under general manager Sean Marks.

Higgins, 36, brings an accomplished résumé from a decade-long professional career that spanned both the NBA and Europe. After brief stints with the Charlotte Bobcats from 2011 to 2013, the former Colorado guard became one of Europe’s most respected two-way players, winning multiple titles with CSKA Moscow and FC Barcelona.

During his time in Moscow, Higgins captured two EuroLeague championships (2016, 2019) and four VTB United League titles. His success continued in Spain, where he won two Liga ACB championships and earned the 2021 Spanish Cup MVP while playing for Barcelona.

Across eight EuroLeague seasons, Higgins averaged 11.6 points, 2.2 rebounds, and 1.9 assists per game while shooting 42.2% from three-point range. His blend of scoring, defensive versatility, and high basketball IQ made him a consistent contributor on championship-caliber rosters.

Before his European career, Higgins appeared in 44 NBA games for Charlotte, averaging 3.7 points in limited minutes. Though his NBA tenure was brief, his international success and reputation for professionalism have made him a respected figure within scouting circles.
