Drop shot artist Corentin Moutet dropped a big win in Mallorca—and landed his first Tour-level final in five years.

The left-handed Frenchman beat third-seeded American Alex Michelsen 6-4, 7-6(3) to advance to the Mallorca final.

It is Moutet’s first final since he bowed to Andrey Rublev in the 2020 Doha final.

Moutet will meet fourth-seeded Tallon Griekspoor in tomorrow’s final.

“I’m very happy about my performance,” said Moutet, who beat his second seed of the tournament. “He’s such a great player. A good guy as well, so I was happy to share the court with him.

“I feel better and better every day. I am playing better from the baseline. It was nice to play at night today. It was not that hot like the other days, so I’m very happy.”

Earlier, Griekspoor saved all six break points he faced in a 6-4, 6-4 win over second-seeded Felix Auger-Aliassime.
