Daryl Morey – President of Basketball Operations for the Philadelphia 76ers – believes that if Joel Embiid returns to play, he will perform at a high level, potentially at an MVP standard.
He doesn’t foresee a scenario where Embiid’s performance declines.
While he acknowledges that last season might not have been Embiid’s best, Morey’s focus is on the future.
He feels that the big man is driven enough to return to top form, as he values playing at a high level.
76ers executive believes Embiid will either reach that level of performance or not, based on his own efforts and mindset. He also feels that Embiid sees himself as an MVP-level player.
Joel has played 9 seasons for Philadelphia. He has averaged 27.7 points, 11.0 rebounds, and 3.7 assists in 452 regular-season games.
