
The shorthanded Cleveland Cavaliers survived a tight clash against the Philadelphia 76ers 117-115, completing a two-game sweep on Friday night.
Cavs’ Jaylon Tyson dropped a career-high 39 points, while Donovan Mitchell added 13 points, 12 assists, and nine rebounds for the Cavs, who rallied from an 11-point deficit in the fourth quarter.
On the other hand, 76ers’ Joel Embiid had 33 points, and Tyrese Maxey added 22, nine assists, and five steals.
The Cavaliers were without Darius Garland due to right big toe soreness, while Sam Merrill was also out due to a right hand sprain.
Philadelphia looked in control when Paul George hit a jumper with 8:47 remaining for an 11-point lead, but the Cavaliers used a 13-2 run, capped by De’Andre Hunter’s three-pointer with 5:53 left, to tie it at 102.
The Sixers moved ahead by seven points after turnovers by the Cavs on three straight possessions, but Cleveland managed to answer back.
Hunter’s layup with just over a minute left put the Cavs up a point, after Mobley made one of two free throws with 22.7 seconds remaining.
Maxey tied it on a runner with 8.1 seconds left, Tyson set Mobley near the basket for an easy dunk to put the Cavs in front by two after a timeout.
Meanwhile, the Sixers’ Dominick Barlow was back in the lineup after leaving Wednesday’s game early due to a back contusion.
Both teams will play on Monday, as the Cavaliers host the Thunder, while the 76ers will take on the Pacers.
