After the Miami Heat dethroned the Milwaukee Bucks 106-103, it was the 800th win for the head coach in an NBA Cup on Wednesday.

“I was calculating that maybe we qualified for the Cup. Then I’m looking around like nobody else is getting water dumped on them. I’m like, man, what’s going on here?” Spoelstra said.

Erik Spoelstra has been the key for the Heat, who are currently the third seed in the Eastern Conference, despite not having many superstars on their roster.

Aside from the Phoenix Suns, who also had fewer expectations for winning games with stars being sidelined, the Heat also came out with the same momentum, challenging the odds against them.

Meanwhile, Tyler Herro dropped 29 points, while Bam Adebayo tallied 17 points and 11 rebounds, leading their team to secure the win over the Bucks without Giannis Antetokounmpo.

Herro, as one of the team’s leaders, takes accountability on the offensive end that it was not all about him, but rather making his teammates also create their spots.

“I want to score 150 as well, that looked fun from the bench. I’m trynna make it work, I’m not here to take over the offense. I told all the guys to play the same way, and I’ll find my spots,” he said.

On the other night, the Heat tactician reflected on what lead to the team’s new system that helped them win games.

“We were absolutely outclassed and embarrassed in a really bad way in the playoffs…it was the most embarrassing thing I’ve ever been a part of…locker room felt the same way…we had plenty of time to reevaluate things during the offeseason. We were done and…It wasn’t even May, and we were done,” Spoesltra added.

The Heat are now 13-6 win-loss record and aims to be consistent to reach the playoffs after being in a slump in the previous seasons.
