The Memphis Grizzlies are expected to waive veteran guard Eric Gordon, according to sources cited by Kelly Iko of Yahoo Sports.
Gordon, an 18-year NBA veteran, was recently dealt from the Philadelphia 76ers to Memphis in a salary-clearing transaction that also included a second-round pick swap heading to the Grizzlies.
He has appeared in just six games this season.
The 37-year-old is earning $3.6 million on a minimum contract this year, though his cap hit is only $2.3 million.
If Memphis proceeds with a release, Gordon would be free to sign with any team other than Philadelphia.
Selected seventh overall in the 2008 NBA Draft, Gordon has averaged 15.2 points, 2.7 assists, and 2.3 rebounds across 931 regular-season games while shooting .430 from the field, .373 from three, and .809 at the line.
However, he has not been a consistent rotation player in recent seasons, leaving uncertainty about his market if he becomes available.
