Tyrese Maxey scored 31 points and Joel Embiid added 29 as the Philadelphia 76ers defeated the Toronto Raptors 130-120 on Saturday at Xfinity Mobile Arena. Philadelphia improved to 6-3, ending a four-game losing streak to Toronto from last season.

Trendon Watford contributed a triple-double with 20 points, 17 rebounds, and 10 assists, while Kelly Oubre Jr. added 19 points off the bench. The 76ers outscored the Raptors 35-20 in the second quarter to overcome an early 43-33 deficit.

RJ Barrett and Immanuel Quickley each scored 22 points for Toronto, with Brandon Ingram adding 21 in the second game of a back-to-back. The Raptors, who had won four straight, cut the deficit to 119-116 on Barrett’s 3-pointer with 3:25 left, but Philadelphia quickly responded.

VJ Edgecombe’s layup, Oubre’s dunk, and Embiid’s follow on his own miss gave the 76ers a nine-point cushion with 1:25 remaining. Maxey and Embiid’s scoring bursts proved decisive down the stretch, keeping Toronto from mounting a comeback.
