The Dallas Mavericks will remain under the ownership of Patrick Dumont and the Adelson family, sources close to the team confirmed on Wednesday. This follows reports of an unidentified investor group exploring a partnership with former owner Mark Cuban.

NBA insider Marc Stein first reported the potential buyout, but Dumont’s camp quickly clarified that the franchise is not for sale. “The Dumont and Adelson families remain fully committed to the Dallas Mavericks’ franchise and to the Dallas community,” the source said.

Mark Cuban, who has been linked to buyout talks, echoed the sentiment, stating he does not expect the families to sell. The Mavericks’ focus, he noted, is on long-term growth and supporting the development of star rookie Cooper Flagg.

Flagg, 19, is leading the Mavericks this season, averaging 20.4 points, 6.6 rebounds, and 4.1 assists per game across 49 appearances. He has emerged as a central figure in Dallas’ rebuilding process.

Other key contributors include Naji Marshall with 15 points per contest and P.J. Washington averaging 14 points and 7.1 rebounds. Max Christie is providing 13.1 points while Kendrick Middleton’s brief return has added veteran scoring.

The Mavericks currently sit 12th in the Western Conference with a 19-34 record. Dallas has struggled on the road, posting a 5-17 mark, while maintaining a 14-16 record at home. The team is in the midst of a long-term rebuild centered on Flagg and young talent.

Despite the losing record, the front office remains focused on building a championship contender. The Dumont and Adelson families have emphasized their commitment to expanding their ownership stake and investing in the team’s future.
