The Northern Irishman remains the only European to have won all four majors, further underlining his place among the game’s all-time greats.
Ryder Cup captain Luke Donald says McIlroy is now “undoubtedly the best European golfer ever”.

McIlroy now sits just one major behind Harry Vardon’s European record of seven, while Jack Nicklaus leads the overall standings with 18.
