  • Ruben Amorim vows to QUIT Man Utd if things dont change

Ruben Amorim revealed that he’s prepared to STEP DOWN as manager of Manchester United if he can’t turn around the club’s disastrous form.

United suffered their 17th Premier League defeat of the season after losing 2-0 to West Ham at Old Trafford on Sunday.

The Red Devils are winless in seven Prem games with two draws and five losses – their joint-longest run in the competition since 1992.

The Europa League finalists slumped to 16th place as goals from Tomas Soucek and Jarrod Bowen saw West Ham leapfrog them in the table.

Amorim appeared dejected after the full-time whistle and then revealed that he’s ready to QUIT the club if he can’t turn things around.

The 40-year-old said: “I don’t want to talk about the players. I’m talking about myself and the culture in the club and the culture in the team. I have that feeling.”

  • Match report: Man Utd 0-2 West Ham

Ruben Amorim told his players they cannot forget about the Prem as their D-day in Bilbao looms.

Yet that’s all anyone connected with Manchester United wants to do now – as their domestic campaign goes from bad to worse.

Here they slumped to a ninth home defeat of the season – and a 17th in total.

Last time they lost this many was the year they were relegated from the top flight – 51 years ago.

At least that won’t happen this season but they can count themselves lucky the bottom three have been so far off it.

Otherwise it would have been a very uncomfortable end to the season for Ruben Amorim’s men who have yet to reach the 40 point mark.

  • Viktor ‘chooses his Prem club’

Viktor Gyokeres is expected to choose Arsenal over Manchester United in one of this summer’s biggest transfers.

Sporting Lisbon could be willing to sell the long-time Prem target for around £58.5million – £25m below his release clause.

Now talkSPORT suggest top-flight rivals believe the Gunners are winning the race to recruit the 26-year-old.

Fellow Swede Alexander Isak, 25, could cost £100m-plus.

And in fact Newcastle want nearer £150m for their main man.

RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko is the other striker that Prem giants most craves.

  • Nine teams in Europe?

There could be as many as nine English teams playing in Europe next term.

Have a read here of who is in contention, and how that’s possible…

  • United braced as “untouchable” midfielder is of interest

Manchester United’s season has been a poor one, but the side are on the cusp of Champions League qualification via the Europa League.

One constant in the United side has been Bruno Fernandes, and his fine form has guided United though a rough spell.

According to reports, United consider him “untouchable” as another side prepare a HUGE contract offer for the Portuguese midfielder.

Fernandes, turning 31 this season, has been the subject of interest from Al-Hilal in the Saudi Pro League.

According to Fabrizio Romano, United know they are unable to match Al-Hilal financially, but with Fernandes still under contract, are unlikely to sanction a move for the midfielder.

Al-Hilal have made contact for Fernandes already over the past few seasons, and are back into the market for him in 2025.

  • United keen on Kean

According to a Spanish report, Moise Kean is now Manchester United’s main priority.

And, fans think he will be “unstoppable” with Amad Diallo.

Amad spent a long spell this season out injured, but has returned to action recently, and scored against Brentford in his first proper appearance since returning.

He also registered an assist against Athletic Club in the second leg of the Champions League, and fans think Amad and Kean will fix their issues.

  • Matheus race hots up

Manchester United are tipped to beat Arsenal to Matheus Cunha – as the Red Devils hold “advanced” talks over the Wolves attacker.

The 13-cap Brazilian, 25, could cost his whole £62.5million release clause.

And amid reported interest from a string of top clubs, transfer guru Fabrizio Romano believes Old Trafford chief Ruben Amorim is in pole position.

Romano wrote in GIVEMESPORT: “I’m still told that Manchester United are leading the race and the negotiation is advanced.

“Talks are ongoing between Cunha and Manchester United.”

  • Former Man Utd striker wants to return to Premier League

Two Premier League clubs are lining up a shock transfer for Mason Greenwood, according to reports.

SunSport revealed last week that the former Manchester United striker is pining for a return to England.

Greenwood, 23, left his boyhood club United last summer to sign for Marseille for £26.6million.

He put pen to paper on a five-year deal in southern France.

Now he is keen to explore his options back in England, for whom he earned one senior cap before switching international allegiance to Jamaica.

And according to The Telegraph, at least a pair of unnamed Premier League clubs are exploring the possibility of making an approach to sign Greenwood.

  • Man Utd staff to miss out on Europa League final tickets

Manchester United are not going to be giving staff free tickets to the Europa League final – while Spurs workers are set for a massive handout.

The Red Devils take on Tottenham in the Europa League final on May 21 after a semi-final demolition job of Athletic Bilbao gave them a shot to save their season.

The final, which is being hosted in Bilbao’s 53,000-seat San Mames Stadium, has seen both clubs allocated around 15,000 seats each by Uefa.

It’s been reported that Spurs are offering all full-time employees a complimentary ticket for the match – a stance that United are not following.

The Mail claim that Man Utd are instead holding a ballot with a small number of tickets available for their staff, but will see the majority of workers go without the opportunity to watch the club in Spain.

It’s reported that United will put on a screening in Manchester for the rest of the staff instead, with plus-ones also invited along.

  • ‘Man Utd lead Mbeumo hunt’

Brentford star Bryan Mbeumo has been linked with Manchester United, Arsenal and Newcastle.

But it’s claimed United are favourites to land Mbeumo ahead of the summer transfer window.

Man Utd are also keen on Wolves star Matheus Cunha as we approach the end of the season.

Both Mbeumo and Cunha appear certain to move before the start of next season.

  • Onana determined to stay at Man Utd

Andre Onana is ready to fight for his Manchester United career — and show Ruben Amorim he can be his long-term No 1.

The error-prone keeper has made NINE mistakes leading to a goal in all competitions since his £43.8million arrival from Inter Milan in 2023.

Onana’s deal runs until 2028 and a source said: “Andre’s plan is to stay in Manchester and he wants to knuckle down and get United back to where they should be.

“His sole focus is on United and nothing else. He’s a confident person and wants to prove the doubters wrong.

“He knows he has made mistakes but he sees proving people wrong as a challenge.

  • Man Utd boost

Tottenham, Manchester United and Chelsea fans are set to be able to watch their sides’ European finals for free this month.

Broadcaster TNT Sports is understood to be planning to make all three of this season’s Uefa Finals available to all fans through its Discovery Plus channel.

While a formal announcement is yet to be made SunSport understands TNT will repeat last season’s model for the three games.

It means the all-Prem Europa League showdown between United and Spurs in Bilbao on May 21, Chelsea’s Conference League climax with Real Betis in Wroclaw seven days later and the Munich Champions League Final between Inter Milan and Paris Saint-Germain can all be watched by fans without a TNT subscription.

  • Sancho asking price reduced

Manchester United flop Jadon Sancho, who is currently on loan at Chelsea, could get an escape route back to the Bundesliga – if he is willing to take a wage drop and cut-price pay-off.

Bayer Leverkusen are keen to offer Sancho the lifeline of a third spell in Germany and sources say United would do business for little more than £20million.

But the winger’s chances of a move also rest on him taking a hefty drop from his £250,000-a-week Old Trafford salary.

While Leverkusen – who are losing manager Xabi Alonso at the end of the season – could afford the fee, his present wages are way beyond them.

That leaves the England international facing the prospect of twiddling his thumbs for the remaining 12 months of his contract or accepting his wages must be slashed to get out of Manchester.

The Blues’ change of heart means they must pay £5m to return the 25-year-old to Old Trafford, which covers the chunk of his salary Man Utd have been paying this season.

  • Jonathan Tah Exclusive

Manchester United are keeping tabs on Bayer Leverkusen star Jonathan Tah ahead of the summer transfer window.

Tah is available on a free transfer and a host of clubs are fighting to land his signature.

And SunSport can reveal Newcastle are among the teams set to rival Man Utd for the centre-back.

Nevertheless, the Magpies’ manager Eddie Howe’s top target remains Crystal Palace star Marc Guehi.

Real Madrid, Barcelona and Bayern Munich are keen on the Germany international as well.

  • ‘Man Utd lead Mbeumo hunt’

Brentford star Bryan Mbeumo has been linked with Manchester United, Arsenal and Newcastle ahead of the summer transfer window.

But it is United who are favourites to land Mbeumo’s signature.

Man Utd are also keen on Wolves star Matheus Cunha as we approach the end of the campaign.

Both Mbeumo and Cunha appear certain to move before the start of next term.

  • Moise Kean details

Manchester United continue to monitor Fiorentina star Moise Kean amid his incredible rebirth in Italy.

According to reports from Spain, Kean is United’s main priority ahead of the summer transfer window.

The striker has rediscovered his former goalscoring prowess with 23 goals and three assists in 42 appearances this season.

The Italy international also carries a relatively affordable release clause worth £42.5million.

However, the 25-year-old’s bargain asking price will only be valid from July 1 to 15.

  • Amorim hints at changes

Ruben Amorim has hinted at several changes for the West Ham game this afternoon.

He said in his post-match press conference when asked about rotation: “I have to make a choice.

“What is the best for the club, not what is the best for me. I make a choice in this moment. I’m going to try to save all the players because it’s really important for us to win the final.”

He later added that Harry Maguire is dealing with a minor problem and Bruno Fernandes is OK.

Amorim does not plan on resting players for the final just yet, explaining: “We have to manage that but they have to play and it is better to play than to stay out.”

  • Ten Hag to Leverkusen?

Xabi Alonso has confirmed he is leaving Bayer Leverkusen at the end of this season, as rumours link him with the Real Madrid job.

It comes just a year after the Spaniard guided the club to an unbeaten Bundesliga title, DFB Pokal triumph and a Europa League final.

Ex-United boss Erik ten Hag is one of the favourites to take over.

Arsenal and Chelsea hero Cesc Fabregas, who currently manages Como, is also a candidate.

  • Homecoming for Gomes?

Man Utd are weighing up the possibility of re-signing Angel Gomes, according to shock reports.

The English midfielder is a free agent this summer with him set to leave French outfit Lille.

Tottenham are supposedly leading the race, but United could be keen on a reunion.

Gomes, who joined the club aged six, played ten times for the Red Devils before leaving five years ago.

“We’ll see what’s possible but it’s going to be difficult.”

  • ‘Better season than Arsenal’

The Sun’s Troy Deeney reckons whoever wins the Europa League final between United and Spurs have had a better season than Arsenal.

Read the outspoken ex-Watford captain’s column here:

  • Amorim can learn from Arteta

Paul Scholes reckons Ruben Amorim should take notes from how Mikel Arteta has transformed Arsenal.

He wrote in his TNT Sports column: “I think Mikel Arteta has done an absolutely brilliant job at Arsenal since he first joined the club.

“He could possibly finish second for the third year in a row and I think Ruben Amorim can take a lot from what Arteta has done over these last five to six years at Arsenal.

“It wouldn’t be a bad example for Amorim to take. He can have a look at Arsenal and just study what Arteta has done over recent years, and it might be the starting block for United.”

  • United coach to join Newport?

Man Utd academy coach David Hughes is a leading candidate for the Newport County job.

The Welsh side finished the League Two season just one place above the drop zone and are on the lookout for a new manager this summer.

Hughes, 47, is set to land his first senior managerial role at the club.

It will see him end his three-year spell at the Red Devils, having previously worked at Aston Villa, Southampton and Cardiff.

  • Supercomputer predicts

Opta’s supercomputer has crunched the numbers to predict the outcome of the Europa League.

Man Utd face Spurs in the final in Bilbao on Wednesday 21.

Both sides have had woeful domestic seasons and European dreams have kept their seasons alive.

And the supercomputer believes there is very little to separate them after running 10,000 simulations of the game.

Opta claim United have a 50.7 per cent chance of winning compared to Spurs’ 49.3 per cent hope.
