Meanwhile, Geovany Quenda will NOT be coming to Old Trafford to join his former boss after Chelsea agreed a deal worth up to £41.9million for the Sporting wing-back.

  • Kobbie Mainoo up for sale

Mainoo is one of six United players up for sale this summer.

Reports in recent weeks have suggested that Mainoo was aiming for a huge contract increase at Manchester United, to a wage worthy of his talent and potential.

However, Sir Jim Radcliffe has not been quiet about the sides financial worries, which makes a new, bumper contract almost impossible.

As such, Mainoo has been exploring his options, and according to German journalist Florian Plettenberg Mainoo is up for sale this summer.

Having come through United’s academy, he offers pure profit.

United value Mainoo at around £70 million, a fee they likely could have fetched last summer, but Mainoo has failed to kick on this season, so may struggle for that fee this time around.

Victor Lindelof, Casemiro, Antony, Marucs Rashford and Christian Eriksen are among the other names reportedly set to leave, with Eriksen out of contract.

Rashford and Antony have been enjoying themselves on loan away from United since January.

  • United among SIX Premier League clubs chasing Bellingham

Sunderland starlet Jobe Bellingham is attracting interest from Premier League clubs.

Sources suggest that Bellingham will be playing in the Premier League next season, whether that is with Sunderland or not.

The Black Cats are on the brink of securing a Championship play-off place, and could earn promotion back to the Premier League next season.

However, if they were to fail to get promoted, it could signal the end of Jobe’s time in Sunderland.

Bellingham has seven goal involvements for Sunderland, but unlike brother Jude does not often play as an attacking outlet.

He has played as a defensive midfielder the most this season, only starting at attacking midfield four times.

  • Napoli interested in Hojlund

In a deal that could well have repercussions for both sides, Napoli are interested in Danish striker Rasmus Hojlund.

United themselves are interested in Victor Osimhen, who is currently out on loan at Galatasaray.

However, Napoli look unlikely to match the €60 million price tag currently attached to Hojlund by Manchester United.

The Danish striker cost United £64 million, but they have got nowhere near their moneys worth for the striker so far.

The striker has scored only eight goals in all competitions, and for €60 million, United are unlikely to get Hojlund off their books.

  • United launch bid for Barcelona star

According to Fichajes, INEOS are looking to bring “Europe’s best player” to Manchester United this summer.

The Red Devils had lodged a bid to sign former Leeds, and current Barcelona winger Raphinha to Old Trafford this summer.

United’s opening offer was in the region of €70 million, but that might not be enough to get the Brazilian winger out of Spain.

Transfermarkt currently has Raphinha valued at €10 million more than the opening offer.

Raphinha has 47 goal involvements in 42 games across all competitions for Barcelona this season.

  • Hugo Ekitike attracting interest from Manchester United

French striker Hugo Ekitike is attracting interest from the Red Devils, who look to strengthen in attack this summer.

Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee have been disappointing in front of goal for United this season, with the side looking to pick up a more comfortable goal scorer in the summer.

Sky Germany reports that alongside Benjamin Sesko, Eintracht Frankfurt’s Hugo Ekitiké is attracting the interest of Manchester United.

Ekitike has 19 goals and eight assists in all competitions this season, 13 of those goals coming in the Bundesliga.

  • Christian Eriksen ready for new chapter

Danish midfielder Christian Eriksen has said he is “prepared for something new” as he comes towards the end of his Manchester United contract.

Speaking to outlets in Denmark, Eriksen suggested that his future was away from Old Trafford, with United yet to put forwards an offer for the veteran midfielder.

“I haven’t thought about it that much,” said Eriksen

“It’s the same principle as last time, the contract expires in the summer, so in my head I’m prepared to find something new.

“I’m actually fine with that, whatever it is, it’s not something I’ve decided yet.”

Eriksen said he was “not closing the door on anything” when asked about a potential return to Ajax.

The Dutch side were interested in re-signing Eriksen last summer, so could be potential suiters for the free agent once again.

  • Manchester United Supporters’ Trust hits back

Fans at Old Trafford are left disappointed by ticket prices once again hiking ahead of the 2025/26 season.

The owners had already come under scrutiny for increasing prices to £66 ahead of this season.

In a statement posted by the Manchester Evening News, the increase is “less than many feared”, but fans still remain “disappointed.”

A recent survey shows that 97% of fans think ticket hikes will alienate future generations of supporters.

The increase in price comes at a time of unrest between the United board and the fans, with the decision to build a new £2 billion stadium whilst laying off staff not a popular one among the fans.

  • Manchester United start talks with Arsenal target

Arsenal have had Benjamin Sesko on their transfer list for a while, and have worked so hard to sign the 21-year-old that the Gunners were confident he would sign for them ahead of 2025/26.

The Leipzig striker has scored 17 and assisted six in all competitions for the German side this season.

The Slovenian has peaked the interest of clubs looking for a striker in the summer, as he reportedly has a £58.9 million release clause, which activates in the summer.

However, despite Arsenal’s interest, Manchester United have reportedly opened talks for the striker.

Florian Pletternberg of Sky Germany has revealed that United are looking to pip Arsenal to his signature:

“Manchester United are looking to strengthen their attack in the summer and are intensively scouting the market. Talks have already begun.”

“From the Bundesliga, the Red Devils are closely monitoring Hugo Ekitike and Benjamin Sesko. Viktor Gyokeres and Victor Osimhen remain high on their list.”

  • Keane criticism ‘motivates me’ – Fernandes

Bruno Fernandes has said that Roy Keane’s scathing criticism of his work rate at Manchester United has motivated him to improve for the club.

Fernandes has been United’s decisive man in recent weeks and was on target in United’s 3-0 win over Leicester City in the Premier League, while also providing two assists.

“I do things in my own way,” Fernandes told Sky Sports in response to Keane’s leadership jibes.

“Obviously, it’s not nice to hear those things about you, but at the same time, it motivates you and, obviously, people think there are a lot of things you need to improve.

“Obviously, not everything I do everyone will like or think in the same way and I respect everyone’s opinion and I have huge respect for Roy Keane and I accept there’s a lot of margin for improvement in my game, in my leadership and everything I do in my life.”

  • Garnacho snub

Sunday goalscorer Alejandro Garnacho has not been called up for Argentina’s upcoming internationals.

The world champions are set to face Uruguay and Brazil in their upcoming World Cup qualifiers.

Garnacho’s snub comes on the back of putting end to a barren run of goal-scoring form – 24 games without finding the back of the net.

The 20-year-old winger currently has eight international caps to his name.

Lionel Messi and Paulo Dybala are also absent, though with hamstring and thigh injuries, respectively.

  • Bundesliga striker search

    As Sky’s Florian Plettenberg reports:

Manchester United are looking to strengthen their attack in the summer and are intensively scouting the market. Talks have already begun.

From the Bundesliga, the Red Devils are closely monitoring Hugo Ekitike and Benjamin Sesko. Viktor Gyökeres and Victor Osimhen remain high on their list

  • MUST response

A statement from Manchester United Supporters Trust outlines disappointment that calls for price freeze on tickets has been ignored and “major concern with fans facing additional price increases for higher-demand game.”

Adds: “We believe the enormous amounts of dialogue that fans groups have had with the club, alongside public pressure exerted through the media + various protests, helped restrain the increase.”

  • Berrada speaks out on ticket hike

Omar Berrada on Man United’s season ticket price increases:

“We appreciate the loyal and patient support of our fans, and particularly our Season-Ticket holders who represent the core of our match-going support base.

“We understand the importance of their backing for the team and have worked hard to come up with a pricing package that is fair and reasonable.

“After 11 consecutive years of price freezes, we increased prices by five per cent for the past two seasons and intend to do the same for next season to offset continued rises in operating costs. Prices remain significantly lower than a decade ago when adjusted for inflation, and at similar levels to peer clubs in the north-west of England.

“We understand that any price rise is unwelcome, especially during a period of underperformance on the pitch, and we listened carefully to the strong arguments put forward by the FAB in favour of a freeze.

“However, the club has decided that it would not be right to keep prices unchanged while costs rise and the club continues to face financial issues. We have kept the increase to the lowest possible level and protected our youngest Season-Ticket holders from any rises, while ensuring the club remains financially strong enough to invest in improving the team.

“Our overall strategy is to price tickets at levels that keep every seat filled for every game, maximising support for the team, and providing a variety of options for different fans, including concessions for our young and elderly supporters.”

  • Osimhen Prem-bound according to teammate

The Victor Osimhen secret might be out.

The on-loan Napoli striker has re-found his goal-scoring touch at Galatasaray, who look set to win the Turkish League, in what could be described as a year-sabbatical away from top tier European football.

With relationships in Naples soured, it looks all but certain Osimhen will leave the Serie A club, and according to his Nigeria teammate, that destination is locked and loaded.

In an exclusive with talkSPORT, Nigeria captain William Troost-Ekong is likely to end up in the Premier League next season.

“I couldn’t see him playing there for another season, or anywhere else but the Premier League next season,” the former Watford defender said.

  • Feeling tick-ed off

United confirmed they are hiking season ticket prices for next season – despite their disastrous campaign.

The Red Devils, currently 13th in the Prem, confirmed a five per cent increase for adult tickets – but a freeze for Under-16s – in 2025-26.

It is the latest unpopular decision from Sir Jim Ratcliffe and did not go down well with supporters.

One said: “Embarrassment. Worst season for 50 years and you still have the cheek to put ticket prices up.”

Another wrote: “How about actually rewarding loyalty by freezing ST prices for those who have attended the minimum number of games?”

And a third added: “Terrible ownership decisions, not even surprised at my own club doing this. Congrats Man United I’ll always be a fan but you have lost a season ticket holder.”

  • Injuries mounting up

United went to Leicester already without defenders Lisandro Martinez, Luke Shaw, Leny Yoro, Harry Maguire and Jonny Evans through injuries – plus Patrick Dorgu was suspended.

So the threat of having teenage rising star Heaven potentially out could come as more bad news for Amorim – especially after his strong form.

United take on Nottingham Forest in their next game after the international break before the Manchester derby and the first leg of the Europa League quarter-final with Lyon.

  • ‘Unable to explain’

Heaven was left “unable to explain what he’s feeling” after his horror injury at Leicester.

Ruben Amorim issued an update on Heaven’s injury amid fears he could be sidelined for a prolonged period.

The Portuguese gaffer said: “We will see next week.

“It’s hard to understand because even when he’s on the ground, he can’t speak.

“He doesn’t know how to explain what he’s feeling because he’s so young. It’s hard to understand what he’s feeling.”

  • Heaven’s injury hell

Heaven put in a superb performance at Leicester on his full Premier League debut.

However, he had to be carried off on a stretcher after a nasty fall in a tussle with Patson Daka.

The defender was spotted leaving the King Power with his foot in a brace – but crucially he walked to the team bus without crutches and did not go to hospital.

    image
  • More on Heaven

Rooney added: “I came in as an 18-year-old at Manchester United and you do feel that pressure. But to come in as a centre-back, which is a position where you cannot afford to make mistakes as you get punished, it is very difficult.

“But he looks like he has been there for years – and that is the biggest compliment I can give him.

“He has come in from Arsenal so he knows what it is like to be at a big club. I think that will have helped him.

“He doesn’t look like he is playing with pressure, he looks calm, he’s composed, he gives them good balance with his left foot, he looks quick and he looks like he likes defending.”

  • Roo have got a special talent

Wayne Rooney believes landing Ayden Heaven from Arsenal was a “real coup” for United.

He told Match of the Day 2: “Obviously, it is a huge football club, but at this time now where it is not maybe going right, to come in and play for Manchester United at 18, it is a lot of pressure.”

“Those expectations are on you from the first minute. But I think in the games he has played, I think he has been fantastic.

“I think he is a real coup for Manchester United.”

  • ‘He can’t stay at Chelsea’ – ex Prem star gives verdict on Sancho

William Gallas has declared that Jadon Sancho can’t stay at Chelsea if he is to play his best football.

Chelsea have an obligation to buy the winger so long as they finish higher than 14th, but reports have suggested they want to pull out of that deal following a string of lacklustre performances.

The problem is, Sancho appears to have burnt many bridges when he left Man Utd on loan to join the Blues, so is not really wanted by his parent club either.

Speaking to Stadium Astro, Gallas said: “That player has talent. He’s a talented player, everybody knows this, but we don’t know why he can’t perform and can’t show what he can do.

“At Dortmund, he was magnificent. At Manchester United it didn’t work well for him. He came to Chelsea and at the beginning we saw that Sancho from Dortmund, but then he disappeared.

“I don’t know what the problem is, but at the moment he can’t stay at Chelsea because he has to do more.

“When you play in the Premier League you have to play every game at the highest level. It’s not easy, but you can’t just play well for a few games and then chill out.”

  • Cristiano Ronaldo to hit 1000 goals days before 42nd birthday

Football icon Cristiano Ronaldo appears to be the most likely player to hit the fabled 1,000 mark.

Data analysts at the OLBG have crunched the numbers to determine when the former Man Utd and Real Madrid might hit the milestone.

Currently on 928 career goals, the calculations show he will reach the landmark six days before his 42nd birthday on January 30 2027.

If that timeline proves correct, Ronaldo would have scored a goal every 15.3 days of his life.

  • Amorim reveals plans for international break

Ruben Amorim has revealed what he plans to do during the international break.

It will be the first time Amorim will have to deal with an international break since arriving at Manchester United.

Asked what his plans were before his stars return from international duty, he said: “For the coaches it is difficult to have time off.

“We are going to divide the group. Some of the players like Mason Mount and Toby [Collyer], they have to work on their fitness.

“We have to recover players to help [them all]… Harry Maguire, Kobbie Mainoo, all these players we are going to try to bring that [fitness].

“The players [must make] a final push for two competitions. Some of the players are going to rest more days than usual.

“So we are going to divide and give different things for different players and try to be ready for the the final two months.”

  • Man Utd player ratings v Leicester

Man Utd leapfrogged Tottenham into 13th in the Premier League by beating Leicester.

Rasmus Hojlund was left to run in behind and shoot low into the bottom corner from an angle to open the scoring on 28 minutes.

The Danish striker had not found the net since December 12 – a run of 21 matches.

Alejandro Garnacho saw a goal chalked off for offside but there was no taking his snap-shot finish off him on 67 minutes.

And skipper Bruno Fernandes rounded off the comfortable 3-0 win in style in the closing stages.
