Manchester United face their highest-profile pre-season friendly of the summer as the tour of Scandinavia continues with a clash against double reigning Champions League winners Paris Saint-Germain.
The Swedish city of Gothenburg plays host to the heavyweight clash, as Michael Carrick’s side look to build on a friendly campaign that has seen them win their previous two matches – including a 2-1 comeback win over Atletico Madrid in Stockholm last time out.
PSG are an intimidating foe, although their star-studded squad will likely still be missing a number of players who played for France during their run to the semi-finals at the World Cup last month and they lost their previous friendly 3-0 to Mallorca. However, they will still provide a fascinating test as Carrick gears up for his first full season at the helm.

Manchester United continue squad overhaul by offloading goalkeeper
Manchester United have agreed to loan goalkeeper Altay Bayindir to Celta Vigo for the season.
The Spanish club have an option to buy the Turkey international, reportedly for a fee of £3.5m, which would give United a high sell-on clause on top of that.
They will also pay all of his wages during his loan spell, with performance bonuses giving United the potential to make more money.

And here’s the PSG team. Senny Mayulu captains the side from midfield and the sublime Khvicha Kvaratskhelia also starts – what a test that will be for the United defence.

The Man United team news for today’s game has dropped. Most of the returning big guns are on the bench, with Diogo Dalot, Bruno Fernandes, new signing Youri Tielemens and Joshua Zirkzee all primed to emerge from the pine.
Youngster Shea Lacey will be given another chance to shine in attack as part of the starting XI, with Bryan Mbeumo set to lead the line and Andrey Santos and Mason Mount forming a dynamic midfield duo.

LAST TIME OUT: PSG fall to heavy Mallorca loss
PSG are only playing two friendlies this pre-season and the first one didn’t go well.
Shorn of a number of their World Cup stars, the double European champions fell to a 3-0 loss to Mallorca as the Spanish side deservedly triumphed in Monaco.
Zito Luvumbo opened the scoring on 21 minutes before Jan Virgili doubled the lead before the break and Antonio Raillo compounded the misery shortly after half-time.
As more players continue to filter back into the squad however, PSG should provide a tough test for United today.
LAST TIME OUT: United fight back to beat Atletico
Last time out, Man United continued their pre-season tour of Scandinavia with a 2-1 comeback win over fellow European heavyweights Atletico Madrid in Stockholm.
Arnau Ortiz put Atletico in front in the opening five minutes as a fine cross got the better of defenders and keeper Tom Heaton alike, but United were the better side from then on and were rewarded for their perseverance in the second half.
Youngster Shea Lacey won a penalty as he was brought down in the box which Bryan Mbeumo coolly converted, before the Cameroon striker doubled his and United’s advantage as he turned home a deflected cross by Jack Fletcher.

PSG will welcome back Vitinha, Nuno Mendes, Joao Neves and Marquinhos ahead of this fixture but will still be missing the likes of Bradley Barcola, Desire Doue and Ousmane Dembele.
