Limerick hurling manager set to remain in role

Limerick hurling manager John Kiely is set to remain in his role for the 2027 campaign.

The Galbally native won his sixth All-Ireland with the Treaty County this summer.

Limerick say his management and backroom team will be confirmed when the extension is put forward for ratification next month.

Jimmy Lee won’t be staying on as Limerick’s football manager.

He’s stepped away from the appointment process, citing a “disappointing” “lack of support” for him from the county’s Football Board.

Lee has urged Limerick’s County Board to now put his former coach Micheál Cahill in charge of the team.
