The Los Angeles Lakers are looking to bounce back in Game 2 of their first-round series against the Minnesota Timberwolves after a tough loss in Game 1. With both teams almost at full strength, the key to the Lakers’ hopes lies in their injury report heading into the matchup.

For the Timberwolves, there’s only one notable absence for Game 2. Jalen Dillingham will not suit up for Minnesota due to a right ankle sprain. The 6’6″ guard, who has provided some depth off the bench, will be sidelined for the contest.

The Lakers will also be without one player in Game 2. Maxi Kleber remains out as he continues his recovery from surgery on a right foot injury.

The Timberwolves took a commanding 1-0 series lead with a dominant 117-95 victory over the Lakers on Saturday night. Minnesota’s offense was firing on all cylinders, led by Jaden McDaniels, who put up 25 points on an efficient 11-for-13 shooting performance. Naz Reid added 23 points, including six 3-pointers, while Anthony Edwards nearly secured a triple-double with 22 points, 9 assists, and 8 rebounds.

The Lakers struggled to keep up, even with Luka Doncic’s 37-point performance in his postseason debut. Despite his efforts, the Lakers’ offense faltered, particularly in the second and fourth quarters. LeBron James contributed 19 points and five rebounds, but Los Angeles was outplayed in almost every aspect of the game.

Minnesota’s record-setting 21 three-pointers were a key factor in the win. Their balanced offensive attack and lockdown defense, which held the Lakers to just 39.8% shooting, proved too much for Los Angeles to overcome.
