The Los Angeles Lakers have officially exercised the 2026–27 rookie scale team option for Dalton Knecht, securing the young wing for another season.
The move confirms the Lakers’ belief in Knecht’s development and potential as part of their long-term core. His third-year rookie contract option places him on the team’s books for $4.2 million next season.
Knecht, standing at 6-foot-6, proved to be a reliable contributor throughout his rookie campaign. Appearing in 78 games, he averaged 9.1 points in 19.2 minutes per contest, showcasing his efficiency and shooting versatility.
The former Tennessee standout impressed with his accuracy, connecting on 46% of his field goals and 37.6% from beyond the arc on 4.4 attempts per game.
