The Los Angeles Lakers have officially exercised their $2.3 million team option for guard Jordan Goodwin for the 2025–26 NBA season.
With the option picked up, Goodwin’s contract now carries a partial (or “light”) guarantee, offering the team some financial flexibility while retaining his rights heading into the season.
Goodwin, a 6-foot-3 combo guard, was originally on a two-way contract before earning a standard NBA deal with the Lakers in late March. He impressed during his time with the team, showcasing his ability to contribute on both ends of the floor.
Throughout the season, Goodwin averaged 5.6 points and 3.9 rebounds per game, while shooting a solid 44% from the field and connecting on 38% of his three-point attempts.
His all-around effort, defensive intensity, and improved shooting made him a valuable depth piece for Los Angeles.
By retaining him at a modest salary, the Lakers are signaling their interest in further evaluating Goodwin’s development and potential role within their evolving backcourt rotation.
