Moses Moody and Jimmy Butler each contributed 20 points, while Stephen Curry added 16 in a balanced Warriors attack.
Golden State pulled away in the third quarter, with Moody hitting consecutive 3-pointers to help the Warriors extend the lead to 88-75. The team scored 36 points in the period, forcing Memphis to play catch-up the rest of the way.
Draymond Green recorded 10 assists before fouling out with 7:32 remaining after receiving a flagrant 1 foul on Santi Aldama late in the third quarter. Aldama finished with 14 points, six rebounds, and four assists for Memphis.
Ja Morant scored 23 points and added nine assists but missed all six of his 3-point attempts. Jock Landale contributed 17 points and six rebounds as the Grizzlies struggled to keep pace with Golden State’s scoring surge.
The Warriors overcame early turnovers, committing 10 in the first half, which led to 12 points for Memphis. Rookie Will Richard faced the team that drafted him, while Al Horford sat out to manage a left toe injury ahead of a game against the Clippers.
Golden State improved to 3-1, while Memphis falls to 2-2 on the season. The Warriors will host the Clippers on Tuesday, and the Grizzlies travel to Phoenix on Wednesday.
