The New York Knicks are reportedly monitoring Dallas Mavericks forward Naji Marshall as they look to bolster their roster, SNY’s Ian Begley reported Friday. New York holds seven second-round picks, potentially increasing to nine if their 2026 first-round pick from the Wizards converts into two second-round selections.
Marshall, 28, is in the second year of a three-year, $27 million deal and has averaged 14.7 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 3.0 assists across 46 games this season. He has shot 54.5% from the field and 30.6% from three-point range, providing the Mavericks with reliable scoring and rebounding.
Dallas is reportedly setting a high asking price for Marshall, with NBA insider Marc Stein noting the team is “unwilling to listen to any trade approaches that don’t feature a future first-round pick.” This leaves the Knicks at a potential disadvantage despite their stockpile of second-round selections.
The forward has started 23 games this season, averaging 29.2 minutes per outing. His efficiency inside the arc is 64.6%, making him a versatile option for teams seeking a two-way contributor. Dallas relies heavily on stars Cooper Flagg and Anthony Davis, who combine for over 39 points per game.
New York sits third in the Eastern Conference with a 29-18 record, having won four straight games. The Knicks are looking to add depth to maintain their playoff push while balancing minutes for veterans like Jalen Brunson and Karl-Anthony Towns.
