The Sacramento Kings will enter Monday night’s game against the New Orleans Pelicans shorthanded, according to the latest injury report.
Key players including Zach LaVine (right 5th finger soreness) and De’Andre Hunter (left eye iritis) are ruled out, while Domantas Sabonis (lower back inflammation) and Doug McDermott (right shoulder soreness) are listed as questionable. Keegan Murray (left ankle sprain) and Malik Monk (illness) are also sidelined.
New Orleans will be without Dejounte Murray, who is recovering from a ruptured right Achilles, while two-way players Trey Alexander and Hunter Dickinson are unavailable. The Pelicans otherwise have a healthy rotation for the contest at Smoothie King Center.
The Kings are struggling this season with a 12-42 record, including a 0-10 stretch on the road. Sacramento has lost its last two games, falling 126-132 to Cleveland and 111-114 to the Clippers. The team’s depth will be tested, as LaVine and Murray account for over 33 points per game combined, with Sabonis averaging 15.8 points and 11.4 rebounds.
New Orleans enters the matchup with a 14-40 record but carries momentum from a 119-115 victory over Minnesota on February 6. Zion Williamson leads the Pelicans with 21.6 points and 6.2 rebounds per game, while Trey Murphy III contributes 22.2 points and 5.8 boards.
Tip-off is set for 8:00 PM ET at Smoothie King Center in New Orleans.
