Former Milwaukee Bucks forward Khris Middleton has left the possibility open for a future reunion with the franchise where he spent more than a decade of his NBA career.
Speaking in a recent interview, Middleton was asked whether he could envision finishing his career back in Milwaukee. “It’s all about the situation, yeah,” Middleton said on Thanalysis Show, via HoopsHype. “I’m happy here in Washington right now. They’re doing me well. I believe in this young talent that they have. But you never know in this business. I never thought I was going to get traded, and here I am. So, it’s something that you never want to close the door on—on life and different things.”
Middleton, 34, was traded to the Washington Wizards on February 6 in a four-team deal that sent Kyle Kuzma to the Bucks. The move ended his 11-year run in Milwaukee, a period highlighted by three All-Star selections and an NBA championship in 2021.
His comments come as he prepares for his first full season in Washington, where he’s expected to play a key veteran role alongside Jordan Poole and Bilal Coulibaly. The Wizards, still in the midst of a rebuild, view Middleton as a stabilizing presence and a mentor for their developing core.
During the 2024–25 season split between Milwaukee and Washington, Middleton averaged 11.8 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 4.0 assists per game while shooting 46.8 percent from the field. His numbers dipped slightly following the trade, but his experience remains valuable for a young roster trying to establish direction.
Middleton’s history with the Bucks includes some of the franchise’s defining moments of the past decade. He formed one of the league’s most consistent duos with Giannis Antetokounmpo, helping Milwaukee secure its first NBA title in 50 years. His 2021 postseason run featured several standout performances, including multiple clutch games during the Finals.
