Suns star Kevin Durant has been named the recipient of the 2024/25 Magic Johnson Award by the Professional Basketball Writers Association (PBWA), according to an official press release.
This honor is given annually to the NBA player who best exemplifies a combination of on-court excellence and professionalism, accessibility, and respect in interactions with the media and fans.
Durant, one of the most accomplished and recognized stars in the league, is receiving this award for the second time in his career, having previously won it during the 2010/11 season.
His recognition reflects not only his elite level of play but also his consistent willingness to engage with the media community thoughtfully and respectfully.
“We’re really pleased to honor KD again,” said PBWA president Howard Beck. “Kevin has long been one of the NBA’s most thoughtful and accessible stars. He always makes time for reporters, whether for on-the-record interviews or just informal chit-chat, and he never shies away from any topic.”
The Magic Johnson Award recognizes players who handle media well while performing at a high level, and Durant’s professionalism made him an easy choice this season.
