The first provincial event of the 2025 Pitch & Putt season saw a runners-up finish for Tralee pair Jason and Bernadette O’Regan at the Munster Mixed Scotch Foursomes event in Cunnigar Dungarvan, Co Waterford last Saturday as it was the second time in three years the husband and wife pairing took home a silver medal from the event.
Rounds of 44 and 46 Stableford points gave them an overall total of 90 only bettered by Cork duo Barry Morrissey and Anne O’Callaghan by a single point on 91. This is the third straight year that Jason and Bernadette have won a prize in a Mixed Scotch Foursomes event having claimed last year’s Second Session prize at the National event.
Sunday’s Non-Mixed event saw the Kerry pairs outside of the prizes, Damien Fleming and Jason Cregan had 86 Gross points but the best none-handicapped score on the day came from Cork duo John Cahill and Daithi Sexton on 94 points. Roger Guthrie and Gerry Lee of Tralee had 86 Nett points in the overall event meanwhile but the winning score here was 95 points by Bishopstown duo Paul Boreham and Ciaran White.
This weekend sees the first Championships of the year down for decision in the County Matchplay in Listowel. Full details will be known by time of print with the draws having taken place at Monday night’s County Board Meeting.
