
Kerry GAA has honoured businessman Maurice Regan for his outstanding dedication and contribution to the county, its clubs and the wider community.
A special event took place at The Brehon Hotel and Spa in Killarney on Wednesday evening.
Among those in attendance were members of the Kerry County Board, along with Kerry GAA stars and legends including Ogie Moran, Colm Cooper, Pat Spillane, Eoin Liston and Darragh Ó Sé.
Kerry GAA Chairperson Patrick O’Sullivan said the county was delighted to honour Maurice Regan and recognise all he has done for Kerry.
He said Kerry GAA is very grateful for his support, adding that Maurice has also contributed to schools, clubs, charities and many other organisations over the years.
Maurice Regan is the founder and CEO of J.T. Magen and Company, a major commercial construction firm headquartered in New York City.
Since being founded in 1992, the company has expanded across the United States, with offices in Chicago, Los Angeles, Miami and Austin.
Regan has also been involved in a number of other business ventures, including Mercantile Entertainment Group, Newtownanner Stud, Park2Travel, WillowWarm and Trinity Street Car Park.
He said he was delighted to support Kerry GAA and the development of the county’s training facility in Currans.
Colm Cooper said everyone in Kerry is grateful for what Maurice has done for the county, particularly his support for the Kerry GAA training centre.
Seanie Walsh, who taught Maurice Regan at Tralee National School, also paid tribute to his contribution, describing what he has done for Kerry GAA as amazing.
In a video message played at the ceremony, Kerry star David Clifford thanked Maurice Regan for his huge support and for everything he has done, and continues to do, for Kerry GAA and the county.
