Kelly Oubre Jr. has been diagnosed with an LCL sprain in his left knee and will be out for at least two weeks before the Sixers reevaluate him, per Tony Jones of The Athletic.

The specific ligament involved had been known, but the severity wasn’t confirmed until now.

Jones notes that there had been some pessimism around the team regarding the injury, so the relatively short timeline is viewed as encouraging, suggesting Oubre avoided something more serious.

Oubre sat out the Sixers’ latest win over the Clippers after leaving the previous game against Detroit just 15 minutes in.

He had been enjoying his best scoring stretch since 2022/23, averaging 16.8 points in a career-high 34.8 minutes per game.

Philadelphia has weathered numerous injuries this season, though Paul George recently returned from offseason knee surgery.

Trendon Watford has helped fill the gaps in the frontcourt, logging career-best minutes (21.3) and three-point accuracy (41.7%).
