Olympiacos Piraeus guard Keenan Evans suffered a left Achilles rupture just over two minutes into his EuroLeague return on Wednesday night against Zalgiris Kaunas, the club confirmed after the game.

The 29-year-old entered with 2:16 left in the first quarter to a loud ovation at Peace and Friendship Stadium, marking his first EuroLeague minutes since April 11, 2024, and his first appearance against his former team since joining Olympiacos in summer 2024.

Evans had recently made his season debut in Greek League action after a lengthy recovery from injury. Less than two minutes into the game, he went down clutching his left leg, forcing an immediate stoppage as teammates and staff rushed to his aid.

The injury is a major setback for Evans, who had hoped to contribute scoring and veteran leadership to one of Europe’s top rosters. His return had been highly anticipated by both fans and teammates.

Olympiacos secured the win over Zalgiris, but the result was overshadowed by Evans’s injury. The club has not provided a timeline for his recovery.

Evans now faces another extensive rehabilitation process after returning from a patellar tendon rupture, a challenge he has confronted before in his career. His absence will be a blow to Olympiacos as the team continues its EuroLeague campaign.
