LA Clippers head coach Tyronn Lue confirmed that star forward Kawhi Leonard will remain sidelined for a bit longer as he continues to recover from a sprained right ankle.

Speaking to reporters, Lue said Leonard will miss “the next few games,” but declined to give a specific timetable for his return or details about his recovery progress.

Leonard has now missed three straight contests – all resulting in losses for the Clippers – since injuring his ankle during last Monday’s home defeat against the Miami Heat.

His absence has been felt on both ends of the court, as the team has struggled to find consistency without its two-way leader.

The Clippers will play two more games at home this week before embarking on a lengthy seven-game road trip.

While Lue didn’t offer a firm update, his comments suggest that Leonard is unlikely to return before the team hits the road.
