Karl-Anthony Towns said he is still processing his trade from Minnesota to New York, a year after the move. The Knicks All-Star shared his feelings following New York’s 137-114 victory over his former team on Wednesday night.
“I’m still stunned, I mean, I’m still stunned. It’s weird,” Towns said, per ESPN reporter Vincent Goodwill. He added that seeing the Timberwolves’ jersey without his name felt strange, especially the fire black edition.
Towns also expressed a growing sense of belonging in New York. “I feel more like a Knick now after everything we went through last year,” he said, acknowledging his adjustment to the new team.
On the court, Towns delivered a solid performance against Minnesota, scoring 15 points with 10 rebounds and four assists in 31 minutes. He also contributed two blocks while maintaining 100% from the free-throw line.
This season, Towns is averaging 19.8 points, 12.8 rebounds, and 3.3 assists per game for the Knicks. His presence in the paint and consistent scoring have been crucial as New York has won four of their last five games.
