Julius Randle is staying in Minnesota.

According to a report by Shams Charania, the three-time All-Star has agreed to a three-year, $100 million contract with the Minnesota Timberwolves. The deal includes a player option for the 2027–28 season.

Randle, 30, played a pivotal role in the Timberwolves’ 49-win campaign this past season after arriving in an October 2024 trade from the New York Knicks. He averaged 18.7 points, 7.1 rebounds, and 4.7 assists across 69 games while shooting 48.5% from the field and 34.4% from beyond the arc.

The new agreement comes after a postseason run in which Randle elevated his performance, averaging 21.7 points and shooting 50.2% in 15 playoff games. Minnesota, which entered the playoffs as the sixth seed in the West, was eliminated in the Conference Finals by the Oklahoma City Thunder.

The Timberwolves acquired Randle and guard Donte DiVincenzo in a three-team deal that sent Karl-Anthony Towns to the Knicks. Since then, Randle has solidified his fit in Chris Finch’s system, particularly alongside center Naz Reid.

The extension ensures continuity for a core that also includes Anthony Edwards, Reid, and Jaden McDaniels.

Reid signed his own multi-year extension with the team earlier this week, further indicating Minnesota’s commitment to the current roster.

Randle’s new contract replaces the final year of his previous four-year, $117 million deal. The addition of a player option gives him the flexibility to reassess his market value in 2027, when he will be 33.

Originally drafted seventh overall by the Los Angeles Lakers in 2014, Randle has played for the Lakers, Pelicans, Knicks, and Timberwolves across 10 active seasons. He was named to the All-NBA Second Team in 2021 and the All-NBA Third Team in 2023.
