Jordan Clarkson, one of the New York Knicks’ primary offseason additions, has largely fallen out of the regular rotation.
Clarkson logged just two minutes in the loss to Dallas and only appeared during garbage time against Brooklyn, according to Jared Schwartz of the New York Post.
Head coach Mike Brown acknowledged the difficulty of consistently finding minutes for Clarkson given the current roster makeup.
“Yeah, it could be tough to get him in the rotation,” Brown said. “Obviously Deuce [McBride] played well during his time, Mitch [Robinson] played well, Landry [Shamet] played at a pretty high level before he got hurt.
“So trying to find minutes for those guys as well as for our starting group is tough. I can’t even hit the minute threshold for all those guys that I’m looking for. It can be tough from time to time.”
As Kristian Winfield of the New York Daily News notes, Clarkson isn’t the only offseason pickup struggling to crack the rotation.
The Knicks’ other major addition, Guerschon Yabusele, has also found himself relegated to the end of the bench as the coaching staff prioritizes players who have been producing in their available minutes.
