Jordan Clarkson acknowledged that spending the past couple of seasons on a Utah team focused on rebuilding had an impact on how he performed.
Now that he’s with a contender again, he says his approach has shifted noticeably.
“It’s a level of focus. I’m glad to be back in this and part of this and back contending, be in the playoffs and know that we’re playing for something,” Clarkson told Bondy. “That changes a player’s mindset. It’s just a bunch of focus that goes into it and I’m locked in.”
Clarkson has backed up that mindset on the court, posting 24 points in one meeting with Miami and 14 in the other.
Through the season so far, he’s connecting on 46.7 percent of his shots and hitting 38.8 percent from three-point range, showing renewed efficiency in a competitive environment.
