The Warriors sent three players to the G League on Wednesday, assigning guard De’Anthony Melton and forwards Jonathan Kuminga and Gui Santos to the Santa Cruz Warriors so they could participate in scrimmages, according to Anthony Slater of ESPN.
Santos’ focus was on conditioning work, while Melton and Kuminga used the opportunity to take the final steps in their respective injury recoveries.
Brett Siegel of ClutchPoints reports that Golden State is encouraged by Melton’s progress and believes he could make his season debut sometime after the first week of December.
Melton is returning from an ACL tear and is scheduled to be reevaluated this weekend.
Regarding Kuminga, who has been out with bilateral knee tendonitis, the goal is for him to complete his scrimmage sessions in Santa Cruz without experiencing any setbacks.
If things go according to plan, Siegel writes that the fifth-year forward is expected to return to the lineup during the Warriors’ current home stand, which concludes on December 2.
