After being released by the Chicago Bulls at the beginning of trade deadline week, Jevon Carter quickly learned that the Orlando Magic had a strong interest in bringing him in.
According to Jason Beede of The Orlando Sentinel (subscription required), that interest made Carter’s decision to join the Magic a straightforward one.
“It was kind of a like a no-brainer for me,” the player said.
“They wanted me. I like to go where I’m wanted. Talking to (Magic president of basketball operations) Jeff (Weltman), he still remembered my pre-draft work out that I did here back in 2018. So, he was excited to have me, and I’m excited to be here.”
Carter has played 8 seasons for 5 teams, including the Bulls and Bucks. He has averaged 5.2 points in 435 regular-season games.
