The Utah Jazz are not anticipated to make any significant moves ahead of the trade deadline, according to Andy Larson of the Salt Lake City Tribune.
That expectation includes the likelihood that Lauri Markkanen will remain a central part of the franchise unless Utah receives an overwhelming, can’t-miss offer.
Jusuf Nurkic entered the season widely viewed as a likely trade piece, but his steady performance within head coach Will Hardy’s system has shifted the team’s thinking.
Rather than actively shopping him, the Jazz are now evaluating how Nurkic fits into their longer-term plans. He is averaging a career-best 5.0 assists per game while contributing 11.2 points per night, his strongest scoring output since the 2022/23 season.
Larson also notes that Kevin Love and Kyle Anderson could be moved, as both players have seen inconsistent roles in the rotation.
Instead of positioning themselves strictly as sellers, Utah may look to leverage its flexibility by absorbing undesirable contracts in exchange for additional draft assets.
As potential examples, Larson mentions D’Angelo Russell of the Mavericks and Maxi Kleber of the Lakers as players the Jazz could take on while being compensated with draft picks.
