Neemias Queta says he has leaned heavily on guidance from Jayson Tatum while adjusting to his new responsibilities as Boston’s starting center, according to Brian Robb of MassLive.
Queta, who stepped into the role after injuries reshaped the Celtics’ rotation, has settled in impressively and currently ranks 12th in the NBA in plus/minus – a reflection of the team’s strong performance with him on the floor.
Queta explained that Tatum has been actively involved in helping him grow, even while sidelined.
“Yeah, he’s been on me from the moment I got here in Boston, and we’ve been able to build that relationship,” he said of Tatum.
“He’s always trying to help me figure out why I could do better, figure out how I can get my teammates open, and just trying to be a kind of coach, so to speak, as he can’t play right now. But I feel like he’s been one of the most vocal guys, and he’s always trying to lead us away the way he can see.”
