Jamal Murray’s status remains uncertain, as he continues to be listed as day-to-day with a hamstring injury, according to Denver Nuggets head coach Michael Malone.
The star guard was sidelined once again on Sunday, missing his fifth consecutive game, as the Nuggets fell to the Indiana Pacers in a close 125-120 loss.
“This has been a weird one,” Malone admitted. “It was day-to-day, day-to-day. The next thing you know, it’s not day-to-day. So, obviously a big loss for us. But we have more than enough.”
The coach’s comments suggest the injury has lingered longer than originally expected, adding frustration to an already tough stretch for Denver.
When asked if there was confidence in Murray’s availability for the upcoming playoffs, Malone responded cautiously, saying, “Hopefully, he’s able to be back by then.”
The Nuggets are currently enduring a four-game losing streak, and Murray’s absence has been felt as the team looks to regain momentum heading into the postseason.
