Jalen Johnson faced a frustrating and challenging second half of the season, unable to contribute to the Atlanta Hawks after suffering a torn labrum in his left shoulder.
As he reflects on the situation, Johnson is determined to return stronger and fully healthy by the start of next season.
“That’s probably the worst feeling in the world, just not being able to be out there and go out to war with my guys,” he shared with Lauren Williams of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
The emotional toll of being sidelined has been difficult for him, as he’s unable to help his teammates during critical moments of the season.
“It sucks, but sometimes you can’t control those things,” he added.
Despite the disappointment, Johnson acknowledges that injuries are part of the game and that his focus now is on recovery.
“All I can do now is just do everything in my power for next year and play the whole season. That’s my goal, and I’m gonna do everything I can so I can be out there in those type of games with my teammates.”
Johnson has played 4 seasons for the Hawks. He has averaged 11.0 points, 6.3 rebounds and 2.6 assists in 184 regular-season games.
