Phoenix Suns guard Jalen Green admitted he’s “a little bummed” that he won’t be able to suit up for Monday’s matchup against the Rockets, the team that drafted him, but his overall mindset has stayed upbeat, writes Duane Rankin of The Arizona Republic.
Despite being sidelined, the player has remained active on the bench, offering encouragement and staying engaged with his teammates.
“Guys got their head down, I’m always going to pick somebody up,” Green said. “I would want that reciprocated if y’all see me like that. I know I’m a leader of this team, one of the leaders of the team. My voice is important. I know energy is important, too.”
Green has played 5 seasons for the Rockets and Suns. He has averaged 20.1 points, 4.3 rebounds and 3.3 assists in 309 regular-season games.
James Harden is now tied for third in NBA history with 25 50-point games. Read more: https://t.co/zAOOxINgHR
